How to change the description of a product on an invoice

You are able to change, add or delete the description of a particular product on an invoice.

 

1. When creating a product into Workshop Software you can enter details in the Description Field that will appear next to the Item Code on a customer invoice. This field can be left blank when entering the product so that the description can be entered for each invoice or the description entered can be changed at the time of creating an invoice:

 

 

2. To change the description of the product at the time of creating the invoice, simply click into the Description Field and change the content.

 

 

Please note: the Description Field is limited to 255 characters. If you want to add more detailed notes see below instructions.

 

3. If you want to add more detailed notes for a particular product and you want the notes to appear directly under the product line, click on the 'Star' icon located at the right hand end of the product line and select Notes.

 

 

4. A pop up window will appear, enter in the details in the Invoice Item Note field, click 'Done' when you are finished.

 

 

Here is an example of where these notes will appear on the invoice.

 

 

Alternatively if you have general comments about the vehicle or the work done that isn't directly related to one particular products you can add further notes in the Invoice Notes or Job Card Notes. These are located at the bottom of the invoice page in Workshop Software.
